Meet Jamie Dirosa

Flowers being harvested at Daybreak Farms in Brick, NJ

A Professional Artist, Certified Art Therapist, Freelance Floral Designer, and a Art Educator.

Oh flowers, You found me and I’m so grateful for that. The past 10 years of using flowers as my art form has been rewarding, challenging, and beautiful all at the same time.

My journey started with flower crowns at farm markets then went to weddings and floral design. I quickly realized the carbon footprint associated with floral design, and decided that I needed to be a part of the solution and not the problem. At our studio, we had zero waste breakdowns at the end of a wedding which was unheard of in our industry! We had reusable zip ties and every flower that was done being used were donated, dried, or went into the compost. It was so much extra work but my team of amazing ladies crushed it every time!

In 2023, we took it a step further and started flower farming to help bring more sustainable floristry into our area of having locally grown blooms without a carbon footprint.

But waking up with the sun and walking those fields…
Staying hello to my bee friends on the farm…
It was very challenging, but rewarding.

In 2024, I decided to sell the business, break up with planning weddings, and get back to my roots.

A note from Jamie:

I worked as an Art Therapist for four years helping children get through their exposure to domestic violence. Working with those children gave me a purpose, and I realized helping people heal through art is what I’m supposed to be doing. I ended up leaving Art Therapy to purse my floral design business, but have recently realized that my path was meant to come back to helping others heal through art.

I’m so torn between my love of flowers and my love of art therapy.

Recently, I realized I need to be doing both…So here we are! I will help others heal through art and flowers. I’m not entirely sure what it looks like yet, but I’m here and I’m ready to create.

Thank you for being on the journey with me ❤️
